Your role

Job duties:

As a Trainee Wastewater Modeller, you will be working on a diverse range of sewerage-related projects that deliver sustainable benefits to communities and the environment through a range of public and private sector clients.

  • Perform a role bringing together hydraulic modeling (1D-2D) and engineering aspects of the project. You will have to understand the engineering constraints and opportunities associated with modeling solutions to drainage problems to ensure model outputs are realistic.
  • Undertake technical work including hydraulic modeling like model build (1D – 2D), model verification, evaluation, feasibility, pioneering, and outline design of solutions.
  • Understand the client requirements and deliver the work in a smarter way by developing some automation tools along with high quality.
  • Demonstrate high standards deliverables by adopting various self-check methods and documentation.
  • Assist with project management and take a proactive approach to manage client relationships, clarifying expectations and outcome measures in order to meet their requirements and deliver successful projects.
  • Support wider business lines and develop and strengthen internal teams.

Responsibilities

As a Trainee, you will provide a range of technical support associated with water-related projects.

  • Hydraulic analysis of wastewater networks.
  • Data processing and analysis.
  • Preparation of technical reports & presentation of results, conclusions & recommendations.
  • Responding to client directions in a receptive and customer-focused manner maintaining technical quality standards.
  • Have an aptitude to multi-task and to be self-starting in new business environments and service areas.

  • Demonstrable track record of technical achievement and client satisfaction within the water industry.
  • Ability to apply technical knowledge in analyzing problems and creating solutions.
  • Willingness to travel to the UK for short-term assignments and training.
  • Ability to adapt to different cultures and working environments.
  • Ability to build rapport with customers and colleagues.
  • Well-motivated and able to work as part of a team or on individual assignments when required.
  • Able to work and communicate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Flexible approach to work.
  • Ability to work on your own initiative.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to make correct judgments.

Training & development 

  • The shortlisted candidate will be employed as a Trainee for 3 months on a fixed stipend.
  • Structured training will be provided to upskill candidates on the latest global industry standards, technology, and tools.
  • After 3 months of training, the candidate will go through an internal assessment, and based on the performance they may be offered a suitable role.

About you

Requirements:

  • Has a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or Water Resources or Environmental engineering - 2021, 2022 & 2023 batch only.
  • Good working knowledge or experience of Infowork ICM, MapInfo, QGIS, Sewer Gems, HEC-RAS, MicroDrainage, or similar.
  • A strong, self-motivated, and assertive person capable of working under pressure.
  • Good communication & writing skills.
  • Flexible to adopt new work /challenge work as per business requirements.
