Who You'll Work With:

You will be part of our Global Alumni Network department and report to our Global Alumni Vice-President, based in Washington D.C. You will work closely with other members of the Global Alumni team as well as our global alumni population to meet the alumni data and engagement needs for the firm. You will also work closely with Bain’s Data Quality Management team, based in New Delhi and the global Bain Career Advisory team.

Where You'll Fit Within The Team:

In this role, you will support the Global Alumni team and service our 18K+ alumni through data stewardship and data analytics. In addition to being responsible for the data quality of our alumni records, this role will maintain a series of dashboards and automated workflows that enable our Bain team members to build lifelong relationships with our alumni.  As a member of the global team, this person is expected to support the data support needs of our global alumni digital engagement platform.  In addition, this person will have an opportunity to expand their technical ability across a range of tools including Tableau, Alteryx, Excel, MS Power Automate and MS Teams.

Position Summary:

The Global Alumni Associate will help to achieve Bain’s Global Alumni program goals by providing analytic and operational support for the program, primarily focused on alumni database of record management, annual alumni surveys and periodic alumni compensation and career progression studies. This includes maintaining, updating and improving our approach collecting and monitoring alumni engagement approach and utilization of alumni data for segmentation in-depth; supporting Bain’s commercial efforts; conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis for IP investment projects; contributing to research, analysis, and codification of findings from alumni studies; helping to develop content for internal and external meetings, and collaborating with the global alumni team to support operations as necessary (primarily in select areas of expertise). This position is a full-time role.

Major Activities:

  • Support global alumni operations and database management
    • Responsible for maintaining 18K+ alumni records and alumni data quality management
    • Proficient in analyzing and parsing alumni data for various use cases across the global alumni program
  • Maintaining alumni segmentation and various Tableau dashboards
    • Work alongside Manager, Global Alumni Engagement to develop and maintain various dashboards for stakeholder access to alumni engagement data
  • Support analysis and ROI calculations of global alumni investments via various analyses
  • Develop and conduct data analysis of annual all-alumni survey and various ad hoc compensation and career studies
  • Support data analysis and research efforts as required within the global Alumni program (within the analyst/associate skillset)
  • Vendor coordination as needed (likely for reporting capabilities with third-party alumni engagement software)
  • Effectively collaborate and team with second Global Alumni Analyst/Associate to support the seamless operations of the global alumni program
  • Act as a role model within global alumni team and business functions

  • Bachelor or equivalent undergraduate degree in Math, Engineering, IT, Computer Science, Statistics or other STEM-related field required with strong academic credentials
  • 1-3 years of experience in a professional services firm environment with exposure to modelling, coding, data aggregation and data analysis preferred
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced and sometimes demanding professional environment, with an exceptional ability to juggle multiple priorities at one time
  • Track record of managing and improving complex analyses, with flawless attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
  • A team spirit, excellent interpersonal skills, and customer service orientation
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience designing and executing complex analyses and modelling in Excel, with proficient knowledge of building pivot tables, vlookups and other advanced functions
  • Experience working with Alteryx, Tableau, Microsoft Flow/Power Automate, SQL is strongly preferred
  • Proficient with PowerPoint, Word and Outlook
  • Ability to quickly learn new programs/processes and adapt to achieve desired results
