Department Overview:

The global PPK group is a key function, which helps to identify, create, and leverage “best of Bain” content, expertise, and also helps Bain practice areas develop commercial strategies.

Position Summary:

The Reporting & Analytics Associate position is based in Bain’s BCN Gurugram office and is part of a team that provides business intelligence support on key metrics to global functions (not external clients) at Bain. The major responsibilities of the role include supporting recurring and ad-hoc analytics on key metrics as required by leadership, using automated data processing and visualization tools by

  • Building new workflows and dashboards using Alteryx (or other EDA tools) and Tableau (or other visualization tools) respectively
  • Refreshing and maintaining dashboards on Tableau, along with optimization of Alteryx workflow
  • Developing expertise on key Bain data sources to deliver effective output

Essential Functions:

The major responsibilities of the role include:

  • Applies and builds technical expertise of Data Visualization and Data Analysis (EDA) tools like Alteryx, Tableau, etc.
  • Building new workflows and dashboards using Alteryx (or other EDA tools) and Tableau (or other visualization tools) respectively
  • Refreshing and maintaining dashboards on Tableau, along with optimization of Alteryx workflow
  • Developing expertise on key Bain data sources to deliver effective output 

Problem-solving

  • Uses structured approach to frame the problem, manage the work and define next steps
  • Uses logic and reasoning to assess strengths and weaknesses of alternative data analytics approaches, to drive the output in day to day work 

Stakeholder Management

  • Working directly with direct global stakeholders demonstrating effective communication
  • Translate user requirements into the required output
  • Perform recurring tasks independently 

Qualifications:

Education

  • Degree level and area of specialization needed for the performance of this role’s Essential Functions
  • Required: First class undergraduate/post-graduate from leading and reputed colleges

Preferred

  • Concentration in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Econometrics, Business Analytics, or Market Research is strongly preferred

Experience

Required:

  • 2-3 years (graduates) or 1-2 years (post-graduates) of relevant experience working with large, multi-dimensional data sets and developing different types of visualizations

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Include specialized background and key competencies needed to perform the role.

Required:

  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint required along with working knowledge of data analytics software such as Alteryx, Tableau etc. as well as a passion for automation of processes/reporting using these tools
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred:

  • Ability to prioritize projects, manage multiple competing priorities and drive projects to completion under tight deadlines
  • Experience with other BI Tools and demonstrate the capacity to understand and/or adopt/learn new tools
