Introduction

Comply with Barclays Group Sanctions Policy to ensure compliance about customer screening and searching and cross-border payments screening.

To operate Barclay's sanctions screening solutions by identifying and dealing appropriately with sanctions requirements on a timely basis.

The job holder will have the authority to release payment messages across a variety of systems used by the department

What will you be doing?

Workflow Management (10 - 15%)

  • Manage workflow and resources of the team, allocating FTE as appropriate and updating Team leader throughout the day
  • Deal with complex queries referred by team members
  • Conduct additional complex investigations on potential matches to support team members
  • Production of management information
  • Escalation of relevant matters to the MLRO and/or Head of Compliance
  • Respond promptly to requests for information from Barclays Group or other applicable and relevant stakeholders
  • Produce and file all relevant reports and audit requirements, including collation of MI
  • Ensure work is processed by Service Level Agreements

Operational Support (60- 70%)

  • Proactively identify errors and monitor quality by challenging decision making and providing feedback
  • Provide trends analysis and design plus deliver subsequent training to relevant team members
  • Responsible for managing procedural updates and annual sign-offs within the team. Ensuring the teams are set up to succeed.
  • Will be the central point of contact for queries from QC and QA functions.
  • Create training packs or how-to guides to improve processes and build knowledge within the team
  • Responsible for marking accreditation alerts for processes
  • Cover the team leader and their responsibilities when they are absent
  • Support collaboration between teams in FCO
  • Promote the awareness of Financial Crime Policies
  • Respond positively to changing business circumstances and readily adapt behavior to maintain effective performance, questioning procedures and offering solutions.

Change Management (10 - 15%)

  • Managing projects affecting the team and ensuring effective stakeholder management.
  • Supporting the team to implement CI ideas across FCO.
  • Responsible for all team engagement with Ops Readiness and Active Operations within FCO.
  • Be the Point of Contact for any changes within the team.
  • Ensuring continuous improvement across all of FCO
  • Undertake governance for removal of tasks, which have no value-added.
  • Responsible for developing procedures for any changes relating to systems or processes within the team.

What We’re Looking For

  • Working knowledge of relevant operational areas which interface with this role.
  • Proven knowledge of FCO as a whole.
  • Will require a general awareness of the Bank.
  • Previous experience of Lean methodology.
  • Undertaken Lean training.
  • Experience in continuous improvement
  • Good understanding of Service Level Agreements and escalation procedures applicable to own area.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Procedures relating to own area.
  • General understanding of Risk Awareness/AML/Data Protection
  • Detailed knowledge of payment formatting
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Outlook email, and Internet use.
  • In-depth knowledge and application of Barclays Group Sanctions Policy.
  • The ability to communicate at all levels
  • The ability and knowledge to make risk-based decisions
  • Accuracy and attention to detail

Skills That Will Help You In The Role

  • Previous experience in an operational area
  • Proven experience in the use of the various systems used within Global Payments
  • Experience of working in a high-pressure customer service environment or a deadline-driven environment with Service Level Agreements and targets.
