Your role

The overall purpose of the role

• To maintain an in-depth, end-to-end technical understanding of one or more applications/products, being recognized as the ‘go-to contact for technical queries, live incidents, and problems.
• To use system-specific knowledge and technical expertise to define technical strategies that provide business solutions.
• Collaborating with Architects, PMs, and developers as well as support and Infrastructure teams during and for the Design and development of the software components within the project scope, ensuring quality, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness to support the high-performance delivery of change projects within RDC.
• Support Design Phases by performing requirement analysis and design.
• Provision of strong build expertise in both project development and BAU enhancement.
• Proficient in either OOPS, Java, J2EE, Hibernate, Spring, or Angular

Key Accountabilities

• Technical Development & Consultancy – Application Development (Design, Build, Unit Test) (75%)
• Participate in technical implementation planning, ensuring that the integrity of live operations will be maintained.
• Understand the various phases of the software development lifecycle.
• Undertake impact assessment of problem records against applications/products within the domain.
• Collaborate with other software engineers across teams to build the technical solution.
• Deliver to all software engineering quality standards/benchmarks.
• Complete assignment work to a budget, time, and quality requirements. Document all work by agreed standards, and with re-use in mind
• Provision of strong build expertise in both project development and BAU enhancement
• Support defect resolution activities during testing phases
• Solve software-related problems, providing analysis and recommendations as appropriate.
• Develop an awareness of new tools, processes, and technical developments relevant to the component area of expertise.

About you

Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:

• Object Oriented Programming, Java, Java Scripts, Angular/React JS Concepts.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Degree in an engineering discipline from a premier institute.
