The Institute was established and christened as the Institute of Work Study (IWS) at Landour. It was renamed the Defence Institute of Work Study (DIWS). At its inception, the primary aim of the Institute was to train personnel of Defence Services and other defense organizations in the field of Work Study and related subjects. The institute rose to prominence under the Ministry of Defence by offering assistance in the practical application of Work Study concepts.

Name of the post:

• Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

Disciplines: 

• Psychology, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Electrical Engg, Electronics Engg, Industrial Engg, Mechanical Engg, Production Engg, Computer Engg.

Training, development & rotations

The following Fellowships are available initially for a period of two ‘years (extendable as per rules). 

Salary & benefits

• The consolidated monthly stipend is INR 31,000/- (Source: DRDO)
• House Rent Allowance is also admissible as per rules.

About You

To apply for this position, you must have the following eligibility criteria and general conditions :

Essential Qualification:

• Post-graduate degree in Psychology/Physics/Mathematics/Statistics in first division with NET qualification (or)
• Graduate degree (BE/B.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering (Computer Science/Production Engineering/Industrial Engineering in first division with NET/GATE (or)
•  Post-graduate degree (ME/M.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science/Production Engineering/Industrial Engineering in the first division at the graduate and post-graduate levels.

Upper Age Limit:

• 25 years as of the last date of application ( Relaxation applies)
