Your role

The Electrical System Engineering Intern will work with a team of system engineers / Controls & Protection / Validation & Verification / Valves within the HVDC unit of GE Vernona to ensure that the business can deliver and change to meet the demands of the grid and renewable energy market.

As leaders in the energy space, the goal is to accelerate the transition to a more energy-efficient grid to fulfil the needs of tomorrow. The projects are unique and interesting, and you’ll need to bring a solution-focused, positive approach to each one to do your best to collaborate with world-renowned experts on game-changing technologies.

Responsibilities not limited to below:

  • Main electrical circuit design
  • Electrical insulation coordination studies
  • Equipment, lifecycle management
  • Reliability, availability and maintainability studies
  • Electrical losses management
  • Filter design
  • Solution development and industrialization
  • Control & Protection Dynamic studies
  • C&P Strategies
  • Control automations
  • Testing/validation/verification of control systems, power electronics, hardware etc.

About you

The Person:

  • The successful candidate will ideally have completed 4 years of Engineering degree level study in a related field such as Electrical & Electronics and pursuing a Master's (at least completed 1 year) in Electrical Power Systems or Power Electronics.
  • Needs to be eligible to work in India. No Visa support will be provided.

Training & development

Based at the HVDC Centre of Excellence in Noida and Chennai, India, the role gives an excellent opportunity for a motivated candidate to innovate, expand their technical skills and develop personally within an internationally recognized company in the renewables and grid sectors.

The successful candidate will be part of a cohort of interns working within a 12-month development plan that allows them to stretch outside of their core academic background that prepares them for successful careers.
