Your role

HPCL, Marketing Division proposes to engage Graduate Apprentice Trainees in –

  • Engineering [Civil/ Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electrical & Electronics/ Electronics & Telecommunication/ Instrumentation / Computer Science/IT] at locations spread across India as per provision of the Apprentices Act, 1961 and the Rules thereof.

Training, development & rotations

  • The engagement as Apprentice Trainees for Engineering Graduates will be for a period of ONE YEAR only.
  • The engagement of Apprentices will be governed by the Apprentices Act 1961 / Apprentices Amendment Act, 1973, and the Rules thereof.

Salary & benefits

  • The candidates selected as Graduate Apprentice Trainees shall be paid a monthly stipend of INR 25,000/- ( Source: HPCL).
  • Reimbursement of 2nd class rail fare by the shortest route for the interview is admissible to outstation SC, ST, and PwBD candidates appearing for the interview.

Career progression

  • HPCL does not give any commitment/assurance on providing permanent/temporary employment to apprentices on successful completion of the apprenticeship period.
  • The Apprentices who would successfully complete the period of apprenticeship training in the corporation would be accorded relaxation/preference in the Recruitment norms. Such relaxation would be accorded in two stages.

About you

To apply for this role you need to have the following eligibility criteria:

Eligibility criteria:

  • Engineering Graduates in Civil/Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electrical & Electronics/ Electronics & Telecommunication/Instrumentation/Computer Science/ IT streams who have completed Engineering Graduation after 01-01-2021 onwards are eligible to apply.
  • Candidates who passed out prior to 01-01-2021 are not eligible for apprenticeship training.
  • Candidates belonging to the General/OBC-NC category must have 60% aggregate whereas candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwBD (VH/HH/OH) must have 50% aggregate marks in all years/semesters in the qualifying examination.
  • Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply. 
  • Only the candidates registered and approved on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) web portal and by the Board of Apprenticeship Training (BOAT) will be considered for selection to undergo Apprenticeship Training.
  • Candidates who have got work experience of one year or more are not eligible to apply.

Age Limit:

  • Minimum 18 years and maximum 25 years as of 11-01-2023. Max. Age relaxation by 5 yrs. for SC/ST, 3 yrs. for OBC, and 10 yrs. for PwBD (VH/HH/OH) Candidates (Relaxation applies).
