Your role

Customer Relations Co-Worker responsibilities:

• Work with my manager to identify solutions to customer issues.
• Actively work together with other store functions to continuously improve the shopping experience for their customers to drive sustained long-term profitability.
• Listen to feedback from customers when it is given and ensure passing this on to my manager.
• Help and support my colleagues when needed and share knowledge with them and encourage them to do the same.
• Know about the services offered in my store and use this knowledge to help customers.
• Be a good ambassador for the IKEA store in all contact with their customers and give them a good reason to return again and again.

Food Co-worker responsibilities:

• To ensure quality, freshness, efficiency, and an appealing range presentation, for example by following set product sheets.
• To help and support colleagues when needed and I share my knowledge with them and encourage them to do the same.
• To value my colleagues’ ways of working and learn from those who work differently from me.
• To ensure their customers are always in focus and strive to make them smile. I meet and serve their customers showing empathy and care. I am willing to listen and support them with an attitude based on IKEA values.

Sales Co-Worker responsibilities:

• To actively approach customers who you see require additional help. You identify their needs by asking the right questions and advise them on the best solutions for their homes to exceed their expectations.
• To understand how to use the different IKEA sales and communication channels and know-how for the different customers you meet. You keep your area of responsibility clean, tidy, priced, and fully stocked, and ensure that the IKEA basic merchandising standards are in place at all times to give customers a positive shopping experience.
• To actively offer all the services available in the IKEA store to help customers make informed choices, which results in a better shopping experience for them.

Logistics Co-Worker responsibilities:

• Contribute to the agreed goals of the action plan in the daily work by being involved in the goalsetting process.
• Share my knowledge and skills to support colleagues in the department and other areas of the store.
• Contribute to optimized daily goods flow operations within the assigned goods flow processes by working in a lean, simple, and cost-conscious way using and sharing good examples.
• Be available to support colleagues in the department and other areas of the store when required.

Training, development & rotation

IKEA has its system of learning and training designed for a specific job position. You will get introduction training as a new co-worker where you will learn about how the company operates, the safety and security rules, customer-friendly principles, and their environmental approach. You will also get a mentor - a colleague who answers all your questions shows you your department and introduces you to your colleagues. You will pass more training according to your training plan then.

Development possibilities in IKEA are as varied as the personalities of their co-workers. They have a development talk at least once a year which is a friendly meeting with your manager where you agree together on where you would like to go and how you’d like to develop yourself in the future.
