Your role

As part of the role your responsibilities include:

• The candidate will assist in ongoing research projects related to the microstructure of Indian financial markets.
• The work primarily involves summarizing intraday tick-by-tick trading data for the spot and derivatives markets.
• The dataset is significantly large, with more than a million observations daily.

Candidates aiming for a PhD in Finance after the RA position are encouraged to apply.

Training & development

The selected candidate will be working from the IIM Ahmedabad campus. IIMA provides access to the library and computer centre for all Research Assistants.

• The appointment is initially for 6 or 12 months with a potential for extension based on performance

Salary & benefits

Compensation will be commensurate with the qualification and experience. The average annual salary for this role will range from INR 2.5 to 3.0 LPA (Source: AmbitionBox).

About you

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in finance or relevant fields (economics/statistics) Or Bachelor’s degree from premier engineering institutes (IIT, NIT, etc.).

Skillset / Preferred:

• The candidate should ideally be proficient in programming in one of the statistical packages used for Finance research (SAS, Stata, or R).
• Proficiency in SAS is desirable.
