Your role

Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad invites applications for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) within a project funded by Momentive Performance Materials Private Limited at the Department of Chemical Engineering, IIT Hyderabad.

This project is aimed at identifying the role of silane-based adhesion promotors in modifying both the bulk intermolecular and surface interactions between the components of a surface coating. The interactions will be investigated using theory, simulations, and experiments to study the effect of silane-based adhesion promoters under varying environmental conditions. The project research components are important for materials development for industrial coatings and will involve collaboration with industry experts.

This position has a 24-month appointment period (extendable based on performance).

About you

Essential qualification

  • M. Tech. in Chemical/Polymer Engineering/Mechanical Engineering or similar Engineering/Technology disciplines or MSc in Physics/Material Science/Computational Chemistry. Candidates with exceptional B. Tech Chemical/Polymer Engineering background are also encouraged to apply.

Desirable qualification

  • Experience with Linux, C/C++, python, and application of numerical methods.
  • Knowledge of characterization techniques of polymers and colloids.

Age limit

  • 30 years
