Your role

IIT Hyderabad invites through online applications from eligible candidates for engagement on an ad-hoc basis in IIT Hyderabad.

• Name of the post: Library Trainees 

Training & progression

The appointment shall be on a purely temporary basis for Six (06) months and further extension of tenure, if any, may be granted subject to the satisfactory performance of the selected candidate and the requirement of the Institute.

• The selected trainees are expected to work six days a week *Work during the Day/Night shift as per the needs of the Institute.
• The trainees may be assigned shift duty on a rotation basis and may have to work on Sundays and holidays as well (Library timings: 9:00 AM to 12:00 Midnight).
• Training/internship certificates will be issued after the completion of the duration.

Salary & benefits

The Consolidated remuneration on monthly basis is around INR 25,000/- ( Source: IIT Hyderabad).

In addition to salary, IIT Hyderabad employees have reported the following benefits:

• Campus residential accommodation will not be provided for the selected trainees during their training period
• No medical facilities except outpatient treatment during a medical emergency will be provided by the institute to the selected candidate.
• No reimbursement of medical expenses will be admissible to him/her during his/her engagement at the institute.
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the Written Test/Skill Test/Interview

The Techno-Cultural event is the annual fest of IIT Hyderabad. Earlier the events Elan (Cultural) and ηVision (Tech) were organized separately. But since 2017, they have been merged into a single Techno-Cultural event. About you

To apply for this position, you must have the following eligibility criteria:

Essential Qualification:

• First Class Master’s Degree in Library & Information Science or equivalent recognized by UGC.
• The applicant must have passed MLIS or equivalent examination either only in the year 2021 or 2022. However, those expecting the MLIS final mark sheet as above by the day of the Interview may also apply.
• Candidates who passed the MLIS or equivalent examination before 2021 need not apply.

Desirable:

• Basic working knowledge of IT and IT applications related to libraries.
