Your role

IIT Madras is looking for Ph.D. students to join their research teams.

You will join the team as a Post – Doctoral Research Fellow with the following criteria:

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Undertake and manage experimental work, design, and implementation of projects on textile-reinforced concrete, fiber-reinforced concrete, and other special concretes.
• Applications could include modular prefabricated elements, tunnel lining, façade solutions, water tanks, pavements, and slabs.
• Should be proficient in the testing of concrete for mechanical and durability properties. Testing with Controls, MTS, and INSTRON systems would be advantageous.
• The ability to perform reinforced concrete structural design and/or finite element analysis of structures would be useful.
• Life cycle or sustainability assessment could be an additional qualification.
• Compiling and writing reports on the work done will be needed, so English and writing skills are important.
• Managing meetings and planning work to be carried out within given timeframes.
• May have to travel within India or abroad.
• On campus, accommodation will not be provided.

Salary & benefits

The salary ranges from INR 70,000 to INR 100,000/- Per month ( Source: IIT Madras), to be fixed depending on expertise and experience).

About you

• Materials, Building Technology, Structural
• Engineering or Construction Management.

• Managing and reporting on research projects
• Testing of concrete and structural elements
• Design of reinforced concrete
• Finite element analysis
• Textile and fiber-reinforced concrete
• Construction project management (on-site)
