Indian Institute of Technology Ropar is one of the eight new IITs set up by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, to expand its reach and enhance the quality of technical education in the country. This institute is committed to providing state-of-the-art technical education in a variety of fields and also to facilitate the transmission of knowledge in keeping with the latest developments in pedagogy.

Your role

The duration of program may commence from 15th May 2024 to 15th July 2024 without any fellowship. The internship will be in offline mode.

The candidates must select a Research Supervisor in their relevant field of study/ course. They have an option in the form to select at most 3 Research Supervisors.

The Candidates are required to do their internship in one department under one supervisor only.

Training & development

The IIT Ropar - Summer Internship Programme of 5-8 weeks without a stipend is designed to enhance awareness and interest in high-quality academic research among young Engineering, Technology, and Sciences students through a goal-oriented summer mini-project undertaken at the Indian Institute of Technology Ropar.

Benefits

Hostel accommodation on a sharing basis will be provided subject to availability on a chargeable basis. The application for accommodation (only after being selected for internship) should reach the Dean of Student Affairs office through the faculty supervisor and the HOD for permission. The cost of food and access to other amenities have to be paid by the student. Accommodation is only available if the student pursues an internship between 15th May 2024 to 15th July 2024.

No financial assistance will be provided to the candidates

About you

The candidates must apply online from IITs, NITs, IISERs, National Labs, Centrally funded technical Institutions, CEAs, Government Universities, and Private institutions/Universities—Indian Academy of Sciences, DST Inspire, or Similar organizations.
