Job Overview

Applications are invited for the recruitment of twelve (12) Research Associate (RA) positions purely on a temporary basis at the Theoretical Statistics and Mathematics Division (TSMD) of the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI). The selected candidates would be placed in Category I, II and III depending on their qualification and experience as per the DST OM No.SR/S9/Z-08/2018 dated 30 January 2019.

Qualification

PhD degree with at least one publication in a Science Citation Indexed (SCI) Journal. Those who have submitted their thesis may also apply. Theoretical Statistics and Mathematics Unit, Kolkata (TSMUK) invites applications for Research Associates in all areas of statistics and mathematics. Pay 

Consolidated monthly emoluments of `47000/- (Rupees forty-seven thousand only), `49000/- (Rupees forty-nine thousand only) and `54000/- (Rupees fifty-four thousand only) plus HRA as per rules of the Institute per month depending on the qualification and experience in the three categories respectively.

Tenure of appointment

The tenure of appointment will be initially for one year from the date of his/her joining the Institute which may be extended later/ terminated earlier, depending on the availability of funds and performance of the candidate. Based on the performance of the candidate, the term of the research associateship can be up to a maximum of two years.

Timeline of application
