Job Description
As part of the IP Engineering Group, the Product Library team is looking for a Library design automation engineer in the area of electronic design automation (EDA/CAD) to contribute to world-class standard cell and register file library development and releases for CPU, Atom, GT, mixed-signal IPs, Client, Server, Chipset projects.
The successful candidate will be part of the team responsible for the development of tools and flows used in the design and characterization of standard cell collateral using world-leading process technology for use by Intel's product design teams and Foundry customers. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Development of automation used in the standard cell library development process, including layout, characterization, validation, quality checking, and reliability verification
- Coding and detailed validation of circuit models, e.g. for timing, noise, and power characterization of standard cells
- Profiling/benchmarking to drive performance improvements in the tools, and implementing speedup techniques, e.g. using distributed processing
- Enhancing flows for greater productivity, such as with improved user controls, post-processing, and measurements
Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Qualifications listed as preferred or additional will be considered a plus factor for applicants.
- A minimum of Master's Degree in Electrical and/or Computer Science/Engineering or related fields is required.
- Strong programming and automation skills with years of experience in one or more areas of VLSI Design Automation (Physical Design Automation, Simulation, Timing Analysis, Reliability Analysis) and/or IT-Infrastructure (cloud computing, distributed file systems) is required.
- Excellent collaboration skills across geographically distributed teams, and being able to handle ambiguity while developing expertise in new areas and delivering excellent, quantifiable results will be key to success in this role.
Additional/Desired Qualifications in one or more areas:
- Experience with IT Infrastructure (including cloud and distributed systems), Machine Learning/Python/MongoDB/SQL/Linux
- In-depth technical knowledge on circuit design, front end model creation and functional verification
- Extensive experience with standard cell library characterization, liberty models and cross-validations with front end models and liberty models
- Extensive experience working with EDA vendors to drive new features and capabilities
- Experience in the development of design automation tools/flows
- Strong knowledge of industry-standard EDA tools for VLSI circuit and layout design
- Experience in software development with proficiency in one or more of the following languages: Tcl, Perl, Python, C, C++, Skill
- Experience working in the Linux environment and its development tools
