Your role

Director, JIPMER, Puducherry invites applications from eligible Indian nationals for the following post:

As per the decision of the JIPMER Governing Body, 80% of posts of Nursing Officers are reserved for female candidates.

  • The number of posts is tentative and may change based on the requirement of the Institute. Any change will be notified only on the JIPMER website before the selection examination.

Training, development & rotation 

The Nurses are trained to provide excellent and efficient quality patient care in all multitasking areas. The department carries out many educational activities to improve the knowledge and skills and to have full potential in all specialty areas to provide efficient quality health care.   • Inservice Education
  • Institutional level CNE Programme every Thursday under the direction of MOH.
  • Nurses are taking classes focusing on their respective specialty areas.
  • Interdepartmental education for the nurses was also carried out.

Salary & benefits

The Nursing officer will be offered a Pay of  INR44,900/- in Level 7 of the Pay Matrix of 7th CPC.

The Nursing department celebrates Nightingale day on May 12th. A farewell party is given for the nurses those who are going on superannuation in a grand manner. Nurses are taking part in various recreational and entertainment activities in hospital celebrations. Nurses are actively involved in sports activities and they have won many tournaments. They have a good inclusive culture with diverse working culture.

About you

The candidate must have the following eligibility criteria to apply for this role:

Essential qualifications & Experience:

  • (i) B.Sc.(Hons.) Nursing / B.Sc. Nursing from an Indian Nursing Council / State Nursing Council recognized Institute or University (OR) B.Sc. (Post-certificate) / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing from an Indian Nursing Council / State Nursing Council recognized Institute / University. (ii) Registered as Nurse and Midwife in State./Indian Nursing council.

          (OR)

  • (i) Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery from an Indian Nursing Council / State Nursing Council recognized Institute / Board or Council. (ii) Registered as a Nurse and Midwife in State/Indian Nursing council. (iii) Two Years‟ of experience in a minimum 50 - bedded hospital after acquiring the educational qualification mentioned above.

Age limit :

  • Up to 35 years
  • Note: A candidate must have attained the minimum age of 18 years as of the closing date of registration i.e. 01.12.2022.
  • Age-Relaxation permissible beyond the Upper age limit (as of 01.12.2022) based on category.

  • The skill assessment test for the above post is qualifying nature. 04 to 08 stations will be created to evaluate the skill-based performance of the candidate on various procedures/instruments.
  • The date and Time of the skill test for the qualified shortlisted candidates will be announced later.
