A production support Engineer is responsible for monitoring the production servers, scheduled jobs, incident management, and receiving incidents and requests from end-users, analyzing these and either responding to the end-user with a solution or escalating it to the other IT teams. When issues are reported by the businesses, production support engineers must act quickly to analyze the available data and find the root cause of the problem, all the while providing users with progress updates. Provide a workaround if available and hand over the defect/enhancement to the application maintenance/development team. Work with business users and communicate the system availability, ensure the production region jobs are monitored, and work with other IT teams to ensure files are received and acknowledged, and jobs are executed/completed. Triage the defects or issues reported to determine, whether it needs a code fix and provide a workaround. Facilitate with Network operation center (NOC) for SWAT call for incident management and close it with Problem Management. Also, helps coordination among business operations and development, teams. Problem Solving Skills and Good Communication.
