Who You'll Work With
You will be based in our Gurugram office as part of our global Capabilities and Insights (Organization C&I) team. You’ll be part of our global knowledge network which includes more than 1,800 knowledge professionals who work alongside our consultants and clients to generate distinctive insights and proprietary knowledge.
Organization C&I is a part of the global research and development fabric for the organization practice and plays a pivotal role in developing, codifying, sanitizing, and managing research-backed new knowledge that includes several proprietary documents, assets, and proposals that form the backbone of McKinsey's knowledge management. The team works in a very integrated way with other parts of the practice such as analytics and solutions.
What You'll Do
- You will help McKinsey consultants and clients by collecting, summarizing, analyzing, and synthesizing information that helps solve specific business problems with a focus on the technology domain.
- In this role, you'll conduct research, leverage proprietary and third-party data sources, and manage day-to-day workflow.
- You'll prepare findings in the form of client-ready end products which could be PowerPoint presentations and/or Excel models.
- You'll collaborate with our global team to share and build knowledge, best practices, and relevant new ideas.
- You will codify knowledge and help support the continuous improvement of our knowledge operations, innovating firm knowledge and knowledge delivery through special projects (both with client teams and on a stand-alone basis).
- Over time, you will develop expertise in a specific area within the technology sector and leverage knowledge and expertise on consulting and knowledge projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering and master's degree in management from a reputed institution
- Min 2 years work experience in strategy and business planning functions of IT, software services, IT vendor companies; software development experience is a plus
- Superior problem solving, analytical and quantitative skills
- Sound understanding of business technology and products, market structure, and vendor landscape
- Good understanding of financial, economic, and general business concepts and terminology
- Good time-management skills and a flexible attitude; ability to meet tight deadlines and handle simultaneous workstreams
- Willingness to work in a highly demanding and results-oriented team environment
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team; ability to work in a global team set up
- Professional attitude and service orientation
- Entrepreneurial and a self-starter who enjoys the challenges and rewards of research work in a dynamic and changing environment
