Who You'll Work With

You will work in our McKinsey Knowledge Center in Gurugram within the Panorama Financial Institutions and Insights consulting (PFIC). 

PFIC is one of the largest knowledge and analytics teams globally and part of the FIG practice, with ~230 members and a global footprint across 20+ countries, focusing on financial services domains, e.g., Retail banking, Corporate & Investment Banking, Wealth & Asset Management, Fintech and Insurance.

What You'll Do

You will support consulting teams on client engagements with research requirements on Banking related topics. This will include consolidating data across multiple sources, developing unique perspectives, creating client ready materials and other tasks as needs arise.

Typically, the primary job responsibilities of Capabilities & Insights Analyst (CIAN) fall into three categories:

  • collecting, analyzing and synthesizing information that serve as critical inputs to client service teams
  • developing expertise in a particular industry/function and
  • staffing on client engagements as a knowledge professional either remotely or on-site. Such onsite staffing can be frequent and could be domestic or global in nature.

As a Capabilities & Insights Analyst you will be expected to possess and build a good understanding of industry trends/issues and have distinctive areas of expertise in your area. You will work directly with clients, consultants and fellow researchers on analysis that requires in-depth research, data modeling

and client-ready presentation material.

Qualifications

  • Degree in commerce, mathematics, statistics or economics
  • Good understanding of banking concepts; knowledge of financial products, industry issues and competitive trends
  • Superior problem-solving, analytical and quantitative skills
  • Professional attitude and service orientation
  • Entrepreneurial and self-starter who enjoys the challenges and rewards of research work in a dynamic and changing environment
  • Willing to work in a highly demanding and result-oriented team environment
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
