Job Description

• You will join our India studio for an 8-week internship program as a part of McKinsey Design to drive client growth by delivering breakthrough physical and digital products, customer user experiences, and design-led innovation.
• You will work with our highly-skilled, cross-functional team of designers, business strategists and agile developers to deliver service concepts, experiential prototypes and go-to-market products to transform clients' businesses.
• You will work with a team in bringing a diverse community of designers and innovators who are passionate about getting in the midst of customers and elevating design capabilities to the forefront of business decisions, impact and results.

Responsibilities

• In this role, you will focus on a great variety of digital business building projects, helping clients to rapidly imagine, build and scale game-changing offerings from the ground up and develop their capabilities to do it again and again.
• You will comfortably apply research methodologies and conduct user research, often through facilitating interactive workshops and concepts sprints. You will synthesize data and communicate key findings, translating them into design opportunities.
• You will apply creative problem solving to generate ideas for complex systems that address consumer needs, leveraging your broad palette of design capabilities to communicate and validate experience design concepts effectively.
• You'll think creatively and strategically, dissecting business problems and using design methodologies to develop innovative outcomes that communicate the product vision.
• You will design relevant, engaging & intuitive experiences to shape user journey(s) – including sketching, information architecture, wireframes, and user flows.
• You will create visually compelling artefacts leading to developer-ready design solutions, collaborating closely with a cross-functional team & ensuring effective implementation of design specifications.

Requirements

• Experience designing applications, experiences, websites, products and services that balance user needs, business objectives and tech constraints
• A holistic and human-centred approach to product and service design, from research and insight generation to concept to deliverable
• Strong research, interaction and visual design skills using commonly used design tools (Adobe CS, Sketch, Figma, InVision, ProtoPie or Principle)
• Animation and video production/editing abilities are a plus
• Willingness & ability to collaborate and problem-solve with cross-functional teams including a variety of stakeholders across business functions and levels
• Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to adapt, self-organize and define your own tasks in an ever-changing environment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Professional language communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing
• Willingness to travel to spend time onsite with clients and other teams
