Solution Process Expert - Innovation Portfolio Management null

Job Summary

This role will act as the process & system expert for the Integrated Business Services (MDS) function, supporting specifically the Innovation Portfolio Management (IPM) capability leveraging Accolade. This individual will be responsible for implementing digital initiatives in this area and for ensuring these projects are on track and delivering the benefits. The role will work with the I2M Process; multiple functional users, and MDS colleagues & partners to:

• Understand & actively support the roadmap for the Global Innovation Portfolio Management capability, including harmonized quality data and business processes (including I2M and non-I2M process).
• Govern specific solution changes, manage certain outsourced applications (SaaS) / vendors, and collaborate with relevant cross-functional business partners to ensure that a harmonized approach (TCO, Security, Integration, Architecture) is maintained.
• Manage specific system activities within the IPM area. This may include the analysis, design, and implementation of digital solutions to increase effectiveness and efficiency aligned with corporate strategies. 
• Work in a cross-functional environment, collaborating closely with (but not limited to) Global / Regional MDS teams, R&D, Product Change Managers, Business Developers, Marketing and Finance.
• Maintain & measure the business-as-usual (BAU) activity to ensure data, platform, and application needs of the IPM area are being met.

Responsibilities

• You provide software and application expertise and analysis to support the implementation of the strategy and the solution.
• You will provide expert consultation for a specific software or application, leading on issues and resolutions, optimizing service delivery to meet business demands and the service operations strategy.
• To excel in this role, you will recommend steps to optimize investments and benefits and mitigate risks for a specific application.
• In addition, you will identify suppliers, evaluate them, onboard new vendors, oversee them, work with project resources to provide design collateral and configure software components that are aligned with security policy and governance, ensure adherence to configuration standards and processes, and share your knowledge of the technology with relevant stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree
• PMP or PMI-ACP certifications are a plus
• Strong technical, agile, and project management skills to support the development of technology and capability changes in R&D apps, data, and technology. 
• Proven understanding of the integration points between an integrated ERP system (i.e. SAP ECC/PLM), standalone R&D/Supply Chain systems, SaaS, and ad-hoc systems. 
• Good working knowledge of portfolio, resource and workflow systems, data, and business processes.
• Solid understanding of digital solutions and data analysis supporting the Innovation Portfolio Management (i.e. portfolio, financials, gate submission, resourcing) business processes, data, and integration.
• Ability to work across globally distributed, cross-functional teams, to understand new business requirements/gaps and design new solutions.
• Translate business needs into functional and technical requirements. Partner with Enterprise Architecture to define & approve the solutions required to achieve business outcomes including how to measure success.
• Ensure system integrity, security and design are upheld and changes verified.
• Manage initiatives with 3rd party external partners/vendors to build, test, and deploy technical / application solutions
• Ability to succinctly write functional specifications for integration, data access, analytics, or solution implementation.
• Create & manage test scripts & test execution for new and updated functionalities.
• Create training and/or standard operating procedures as needed to support solutions and ensure solutions are robust, strategically aligned and can be efficiently delivered and maintained.
• Collaborate with business, relevant partners (internal, external) and stakeholders to ensure project & operational performance is met.
• Implement best practices to continually improve the performance of solutions.
• Understanding of portfolio management and innovation processes
• Understanding of MDS Solution Architecture, R&D / Manufacturing / Supply Chain / Finance business processes and solutions
• Applying business understanding and acumen to deliver digital capabilities or solutions
• Ability to navigate through the MDS Organization to drive actions and decisions
• Ability to influence others based on knowledge, experience, or key relationships
• Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Understanding of data architecture, data lakes and Data & Analytics strategies and solutions
• Proven technical experience working in Accolade or similar Innovation Portfolio systems
