As a Technical Writer Apprentice, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining high-quality documentation that contributes to the overall success of Oceaneering products. The technical writer is expected to understand the product and the existing documentation and update the relevant sections for subsequent releases. Such documentation may come in the form of user guides, integration guides, API developer guides, in-platform instructions, installation, configuration instructions and system operations. This position will require you to work from the office.

Essential
The Technical writer will create, update, and maintain technical and non-technical software-related documentation for Oceaneering products.
Assist in the creation, revision, and maintenance of technical documents, including user manuals, installation guides, release notes, and online help.
Collaborate with engineers, developers, and product managers to gather information and ensure accuracy in documentation.
Review and edit documents for clarity, consistency, and adherence to company standards.
Help maintain a documentation library and manage version control.
Learn and apply industry-standard tools and software for technical writing.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to documentation planning and strategy sessions.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in technical writing
Non-Essential
Assist with any other duties as and when required.
Undertake specific projects as instructed by management.
Demonstrates a high level of initiative to accomplish. individual objectives assigned as well as team goals.
Comply with organizational HR policies and procedures.

About you
Required qualifications
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar (fluent with the MSTP style guide). Ability to be self-directed and effective working independently and also to work as a team (Lead writer, peers and a global team environment).
Attention to detail while managing several complex deliverables across multiple groups, cultures, and time zones.
Familiarity with the Microsoft Writing Style Guide is a plus.
Knowledge, skills, abilities, and other characteristics
Have completed studies as a technical writer or equivalent proven professional experience
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to communicate/work with a multi-cultural team of technicians and engineers for projects
Ability to write accurate and concise communications
