The Data Governance Office Project Manager is a key role to support the effective management and execution of data projects including Master Data Management, enterprise reference data, Holistic Data Framework operationalization and maintenance, and other (TBD) data projects.

Key Accountabilities

Project Management

  • Ability to effectively manage projects from definition to project completion
  • Effectively partner and collaborate with impacted stakeholders to define scope, milestones, roles and responsibilities, deliverables, benefits, and outcomes.
  • Act as the first point of contact for any risks or issues arising from the project team
  • “Early” escalation of issues and risks to proactively mitigate project risk

Status Reporting

Publish status reports in alignment with project communications cadences including:

  • Daily scrum meetings
  • Weekly status meetings
  • Monthly or quarterly steering committees

Stakeholder Relationships

  • Partner with the Business and Corporate IT to effectively deliver data-related projects
  • Work closely with horizontal data capabilities and or supporting processes including:
  • Data Governance
  • Information Security
  • Data Privacy
  • Enterprise Architecture
  • Enterprise Information Management
  • Master Data Management
  • Quality

Knowledge and Experience

  • Prior program management or project management skills required
  • Experience working in a data governance office or data governance program is a plus
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or other certifications are a plus
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels of responsibility and authority; able to prioritize, delegate and foster the development of high-performance teams to lead/support an environment driven by teamwork; as well as strong trouble-shooting and organizational skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Previous experience in pharma and/or life sciences would be a plus

Education

  • Bachelor’s in computer science or a relevant field is preferable.
