Your role

About the team:

The intern will work with PATH's Family Health Program, focusing on Maternal and Child Health, Sexual and Reproductive Health, Nutrition, and initiatives like Family Planning Supply Chain, Rice Fortification, Lactation Management, Anemia interventions, Respiratory Care, and Childhood Illness Management Tools.

The family health team is focused on working on multiple anemia-related projects. The projects are focused on assessing the current Anemia Mukt Bharat (AMB) program and preparing roadmaps at the national and state levels to combat anemia. They are also conducting a rapid pilot study to gauge the user acceptability of non-invasive hemoglobinometers in primary care settings. The intern will work across programs to support the family health team in undertaking different activities.

Responsibilities may include one or many, but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist in drafting required documents such as reports, SOPs, guidelines, and project briefs.
  • Conduct secondary research and present an analysis of the same with meaningful conclusions.
  • Document proceedings and key messages of meetings, webinars, seminars, etc. for onward dissemination.
  • Assist in note-taking and collation during project key informant interviews.
  • Organizing the layout of the case studies in the PATH template
  • Coordinate with different teams for the required inputs, insights, and guidance
  • Work on other deliverables (ad-hoc need basis)

Training & development

Skills to be developed and/or expanded during the internship:

  • Understanding of the respiratory care ecosystem
  • Knowledge of global health, medical technology innovations, digital health, nonprofit management, and business development
  • Fostering collaboration and coordination among team members
  • Exposure to PATH programs

About you

Required skills:

  • Fresh graduates or final year Bachelor’s/Master’s students in Public Health/Mass Media/Journalism/Public Relations 
  • The experience gained as part of previous training, internship, or college dissertation may also be considered.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a complex environment
  • Comfortable with collaborating across all levels of leadership within the organization
  • Basic primary and secondary research and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent command over MS Office applications, especially MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint
  • Excellent in written and spoken English
  • Knowledge of the regional language of the state in which the Intern is placed will be an added advantage
