Your role

Plug Power Inc. is actively seeking a highly motivated Intern. The Intern will be responsible for assisting the Civil & Structural in a wide variety of initiatives and projects in support of the department’s projects. In this role, you will gain exposure to a fast-paced manufacturing and engineering environment which includes developing a detailed understanding of Plug Power’s products. The role will focus on the successful completion of technical projects, process improvement, documentation, and presentation of results at the end of the program.

Project summary: 

Structural concepts for modular steel structures (Array skids) Structural analysis of a steel array skid as per EU codes Design - In operating conditions using standard software Design - In transport conditions using standard software Complete calculations report.

Core duties and responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of all Plug Power products.  
• Work with senior-level engineers and management to interpret and analyze data
• Assist in developing engineering processes with guidance from senior-level engineers and management.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to sufficiently make minor repairs as necessary.
• Ability to independently set up experiments and monitor progress
• Understand engineering concepts and how to appropriately apply them in day-to-day projects
• Ability to critically analyze data in terms of system performance and reliability.
• Always represent Plug Power in a professional manner and all interactions.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

About you

To apply for this position, you must have the following:

Education and qualification:     

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil & Structural engineering,
• Prior Internship or Co-op experience preferred
• Must have reliable transportation to the office
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Background/experience with statistical analysis
• Possess a solid hands-on approach to problem-solving
• Computer and software systems skills as applicable to the position including but not limited to Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task effectively
• Demonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail
• Excellent follow-through 
• Must be driven and self-motivated
• Must possess the highest ethical standards and a commitment to work quality
