Your role

This role will be responsible for supporting 24x7 operations and thus requires working night/weekend shifts on a rotational basis to support the organisation's business requirements.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Monitoring and Triaging all security events coming into SOC from multiple sources. 
• Triage for the first 20 minutes post which engages Tier 2 for further help, Triage includes
• Monitoring SIEM and Ticketing tools sources
• Identifying and Analyzing security events and incident data by leveraging Orchestration tool workflows and knowledge base
• Updating the Ticketing system thoroughly and timely 
• Communicating with stakeholders to make sound recommendations on mitigation and or prevention techniques
• Follow up and resolution of issues/tickets in a timely per SLAs 
• Follow-up on pending tickets and issues ensuring SLAs
• Monitors the health of security sensors and endpoints
• Working closely with Tier 2 and Tier 3 teams 
• For escalating and resolving security issues
• Staying current with new Use Cases and process changes
• Actively participate in brown bag sessions

About you

The individual must also have a good awareness of current and developing security threats and technologies

• Strong proficiency in written and spoken English
• Strong interpersonal skills and a good team player
• Prior professional services experience in 24x7 SOC operations is desired

Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree or Master’s Degree in Computer Sciences or Cyber Security
• 0 - 3 experience working in a SIEM tool with a strong background in security incident response and system operations
• CEH, Security+, OSCP or other industry-relevant cyber-security certifications and ITIL V3.0 knowledge is a plus
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Masters in information security
