Your role

This position requires a background in software engineering. He/she will support the Digital Workplace Integration and Solutions team in the development of custom applications, and DevOps processes. The candidate will be responsible for software development, software design, improve application testability and improve upon DevOps processes with minimal supervision.

The candidate will assist with all major project initiatives, enhancements, analysis, and day-to-day support. This role will require a flexible, agile approach to meet their changing business needs. The technologies and skills employed will vary but, at a minimum, will need understanding of REST APIs, C#, ReactJS/Web Frontend Development, DevOps and SQL. Some exposure to microservices architecture, developing containerized, Kubernetes, Splunk Observability will be deemed a plus.

About you

The position requires

  • Be part of multiple agile teams. Collaborate with the team and stakeholders to analyze system requirements.
  • Adheres to S&P Global Values (Discovery, Partnership and Integrity).
  • Strong background in software engineering.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for project alignment and agile practice adherence.
  • Be a change champion, have the ability to drive initiatives, take ownership and see it to realization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Engineering is required, or in lieu, a demonstrated equivalence in work experience.
  • Understanding and some working knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (Agile Preferred)
  • Strong Programming and current hands-on development skills with C# and Javascript.
  • Strong RDMS and NoSQL concepts and ability to read/manage data.
  • Understanding of REST Architectural style, OpenAPI Specification and API-first Development.
  • Knowledge of cloud computing (AWS or Azure) and some familiarity with DevOps tools.
  • Be resourceful and have a can-do attitude.
