Responsibilities

• The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?
• Create high-quality deliverables such as Outside-In analysis, Industry Point of View documents and Industry Sectoral overviews that ultimately support strategic selling initiatives within VMware 
• Receive and clarify assigned requests; prepare preliminary scope by organizing scoping calls with requestors; Negotiate and approve scope, milestones and timelines 
• Decide the research methodology, sources and type of data to be collected 
• Study VMware product data sheets to identify product benefits & value propositions; tie industry drivers & challenges along with VMware value propositions; create detailed value proposition slides 
• Use structured communication basics such as the pyramid principle to create detailed decks with key messages; generate insight and conclusion 
• Maintain and update a database of industry drivers and KPIs; create models (quantitative/ qualitative) for industry benchmarks using these KPIs 
• Maintain and update internal tools and repository on a continuous basis 

Performance Outcome

• Within 30 days, you will familiarize yourself with VMware’s multi-cloud portfolio, vision for our customers and our key technology partners.
• Within 60 days, you will begin contributing to one or more key deliverables using an outside-in perspective to help enable sales teams and would have kickstarted a needle-moving growth initiative with the cross-functional and geo teams.
• Within 90 days, you will establish key stakeholder relationships within and outside the business group to drive scale, process consistency, and own the business research acumen, including making presentations to sales teams and/ or senior executives.

Team Structure 

The hiring manager for this role is based in Bengaluru, India. He leads a portfolio of teams across the Worldwide Value Engineering Organisation. He believes in empowering all members of his team to lead by identifying and solving their own challenges; he is also generous with his time, coaching and assisting where needed to develop team members or drive problems to resolution.

The Value Engineering function comprises Value Modeling, Business Research & Insights and Offer Management teams. The team embraces a dynamic, open and highly collaborative culture that encourages learning from each other for the team and individual growth.
