The business Unit is looking for End to End functional Test Automation Engineer to play a pivotal role in advancing the team's goals for the vRealize product. The transformation to the cloud is turning out to be an exciting journey and we are looking to add to an already solid E2E test automation team.

You’ll be working with a great team designing and building a SaaS application stack from the ground up while providing actionable insights into the services running in AWS cloud and on-premises deployment. Additionally, you’ll be improving our internal CI/CD pipelines. You will ensure that all critical builds are ready to be released with high quality and stability.

Success in the Role: What are the performance goals over the first6-12 months you will work toward completing?

Within your first 6 months

  • You will contribute towards E2E Functional Test Automation-related efforts.
  • You will contribute to incident response processes and work towards improving the quality and stability of underlying software components using automation.
  • You will assume ownership of 1 or more Cloud Services/functions/Sub-Domain by becoming a subject matter expert and increasing adoption of this function across other engineering teams. Example functions are SaaS, Cloud Health, Cloud Management, Operations, KPIs, Matrices, Policies, Hybrid Cloud Management, Config Management, Security, Compliance, Incident response, etc.

After 6 months+

  • Working with the team, you will propose improvements in the existing enterprise service organization model for e2e quality coverage improvement for SaaS and on-premises delivery model.
  • Working with the team, you will propose the next generation of test automation framework solutions to support and sustain higher quality requirements.
  • You will embody an automation first mindset and will be an influence across DevOps, Quality, and engineering teams to achieve a 100% automation goal.
  • You will improve test coverage, and quality and reduce redundancy and manual intervention using best automation practices across the engineering organization.
  • You will help implement monitoring, logging, and tracing functions across all ESO services for a robust system where potential production incidents are identified and fixed before reaching production systems.

What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing regularly?

As a new member of the E2E Functional Testing Team, you will:

  • Work with the team and product management to understand the use case, design, develop, automate and execute E2E test cases.
  • Write technical design documents and hold reviews for E2E and functional test cases.
  • Participate in all team scrum meetings and demos.
  • Help test microservices to K8s using Continuous Integration and
  • Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) systems.
  • Test cloud services in an automated fashion and build CICD pipelines for the same.
  • Maintain existing CI/CD systems and pipelines. 
  • Participate in on-call rotations, providing operational support to components owned by the ESO team.
  • Communicate with internal and external consumers regarding the team’s software and gather requirements to facilitate the adoption of your solutions.
  • When required you will be participating in 2nd/3rd level customer service, incident resolution, in-house POC, demos, and knowledge transfer.
