The ITS technology landscape is evolving and data is at the heart of changes such as connected and autonomous vehicles and digital delivery. We now have several opportunities for data specialists to join our team to work on a range of exciting projects for clients across the UK.
We are looking for an experienced business-focussed consultant with expertise in the fields of data analytics, business intelligence, and business analysis to help our clients deliver business value with data. This role will be a key part of our Data and Architectures capability and will enable the right candidate to have a real impact on the development of our business in this area.
A typical week would include
- Keeping up to date with technology trends and use cases.
- Working with clients to help them understand their data, their business challenges, and identifying opportunities to derive value from data.
- Gathering, documenting, and managing business requirements.
- Providing guidance to clients on regulatory responsibilities and defining compliant processes.
- Developing ontologies, data models, and data catalogs.
- Assessing, cleansing, transforming, and analyzing data. Creating visualizations and developing insights.
- Working across projects to support the delivery of best practice data analytics
- Developing and mentoring consultancy staff
- Acting as a data SME within our team to mentor colleagues and provide support and guidance across projects and bids
We'd love to hear from you if you have
- Experience delivering data solutions in a role such as business intelligence analyst, data scientist, business analyst, or consultant.
- A keen interest in technology and data and in their impact on the world
- Good analytical skills and a proven ability to think creatively to solve problems.
- Client-facing experience and excellent communications skills, both written and face-to-face with the ability to work well as part of a team. Experience in a consultancy, pre-sales, or business analysis role would be an advantage.
- Sound practical knowledge of methodologies such as Agile, DevOps, TOGAF, Systems Engineering, Design Thinking and how they can be made to work in the real world.
- Expertise in some of the following areas:
- Definition of data use cases.
- Managing data as an asset.
- Information rights management; data regulations and privacy.
- Evaluating, cleansing, and transforming datasets within data governance processes.
- Analysis and production of visualizations using BI applications (ideally PowerBI) and/or scripting (Python, R). An understanding of data science approaches would be an added benefit.
- Development of ontologies and data models.
- Big data, unstructured data.
- Machine learning.
- A degree in a numerate discipline, such as engineering, mathematics, science, computer science, economics, or equivalent industry experience.
