At ChefAtHome FoodTech LLP, we’re passionate about building new innovative products that will disrupt the industry. We are a group of motivated students aiming to develop innovative products for a sustainable future. At ChefHome we provide Cooking Assistance to make anyone an epicure. We make traditional, healthy, authentic & simple Cook It Yourself kits along with instruction videos.
Initially, we came up with the idea of online delivery of groceries and provisions but learnt that this simple idea alone is not sufficient for us to survive long in the market. Then we decided to pivot. The new idea we came up with is the online delivery of Cook-it-yourself Kits initially called Kirakart. Chef At Home is now rebranded as Zang.
As the name Chef@Home suggests, we provide all the key ingredients required to cook a dish along with a tutorial video of how to cook that dish through our app platform. Customers can choose from a wide variety of dishes and place orders to receive the Cook-it-yourself Kits at their doorstep.
The Wadhwani Foundation Bootcamp helped us achieve a lot to date. Our initial sales were of fruit and vegetable combo kits of which we made sales of 618 kits out of which 390 were sold along with our operational partner. Now we have got the famous South Indian chef, Mrs Mallika Badrinath as our food and nutrition advisor. We have kick-started our operations in Chennai from June 15.
An average Indian wastes approximately 50kg of food every year. Fun fact – the amount of rice consumed by an average Indian is 50kg per year. The amount of food wasted is equal to the amount of food consumed in a year. This is indeed a glum situation. Even if we consider only 1000 people, 50 tons of food is wasted. But if these 1000 people become our customers we can reduce this wastage of food significantly. Our meal kits also help in reducing wastage of food as it is packed with the ingredients in the right proportion.
