Job Description

The DQA monitors the quality of data that is used to build research solutions. The candidate will examine big data sets to optimise the efficiency and quality of the data being delivered to our clients. This role will be responsible for resolving data quality issues and improving the data quality of our deliverables by close collaboration with Catalyst analysts and data scientists and assisting the Catalyst team in implementing new big data-led solutions. The position reports to a Catalyst Data Quality Team Lead who reports to a Catalyst (Sr.) Product Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring and reviewing data that is delivered to our internal and external clients
  • Developing and executing data clean-up measures
  • Maintaining a record of the original and corrected data sets
  • Identifying, assessing, and resolving any data quality issues
  • Evaluating large datasets for quality and accuracy
  • Resolving data quality issues in a timely and accurate manner
  • Helping determine the root cause of data quality errors
  • Researching and determining the complexity of the problem to help identify steps to resolve the issue
  • Collaborating with Catalyst and Data Science to correct data quality errors
  • Developing good relationships with users across the company to resolve any data quality issues
  • Ensuring adherence to data quality standards
  • Developing data quality best practice guidelines and providing user training to enhance data quality
  • Providing ad-hoc support to ensure that best practice is followed
  • Addressing the root cause of data inconsistencies and recommending improvements
  • Identifying areas of improvement to achieve higher standard data quality
  • Measuring and reporting to management on the progress of data quality improvement

Requirements

  • Ability to review, analyse and manage large volumes of data
  • Outstanding attention to detail and a meticulous approach to work
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • An aptitude for analysis and client reporting
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Microsoft Office with advanced knowledge of Excel
